Dover BCP now approved for all products of non-animal origin

We are pleased to announce that Dover BCP is now approved for products of non-animal origin (sometimes referred to as high risk food not of animal origin - HRFNAO) which are not subject to temperature control. This means we are an approved BCP for all fresh products (excluding chilled and frozen) as listed in Regulation 2019/1793.

For a complete list of foodstuffs with GB import restrictions, please refer to the FSA website:  Foodstuffs with GB import restrictions | Food Standards Agency.

Please note: Dover is not approved to handle chilled or frozen high-risk food, any high-risk feed or products of animal origin. Such consignments intended for import into or transit across GB must not arrive at Dover and should be imported through an appropriately designated BCP.

If you wish to import fresh products of non-animal origin through Dover, the person responsible for the load must pre notify us at least one working day in advance of the expected arrival of the consignment. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 09:00am - 5:00pm.

Notification should be made via IPAFFS and a CHED-D with Part 1 completed must be submitted.

Your import will require a documentary check and may be subject to an identity and physical check, including sampling.

When your consignment arrives at Dover, it must remain within the port until checks have been completed. If your consignment leaves the port before checks have been completed, it will be non-compliant and referred to the relevant inland local authority for enforcement.
