Amendments to HRFNAO Controls

Amendments to Regulation 2019/1793 will come into force on the 7th March 2024, which seeks to control high-risk food and food not of animal origin (HRFNAO) imported into Great Britain.

The Regulation has been amended to reflect the changes to hazards affecting imported food to ensure the safety of consumers.

Please note that hazelnuts from Turkey are to be delisted from 7th March 2024. After this date there will be no need to raise a CHED-D on IPAFFS or notify DPHA of your import of hazelnuts.

As a reminder we are approved for Hazelnuts, Dried Figs and Pistachios from Turkey, and Pistachios from Iran.

Any other HRFNAO being imported via Dover must be ‘EU cleared’ and have a validated CHED-D from the EU. Please see our BTOM updates for EU consigned HRFNAO changes.
